A Quick Canadian Girls’ Trip

I prefer to travel alone. However, I'll make an exception for a bestie. My friend Jenn invited me to take a cruise up north to Victoria for the weekend and I happily accepted. After spending Thanksgiving weekend in Vancouver last year, I felt like an international traveling pro. Which meant I could remember to add international service to my phone bill.

We booked seats on the Victoria Clipper and separate rooms at Oak Bay Beach Hotel right on the water. The weather was fantastic, the food was delicious, and we even had time to relax by the pool. It was a bit of a challenge getting around though, since ride shares aren't too established in the city yet. I would have loved to stay for more than one night and enjoy those heated hotel bathroom floors, but since I didn't initiate the trip, that was out of my control.

I had a great time getting away and catching up with a friend for the weekend, but it's safe to say that I won't make it a regular occurrence. I'm a leisure traveler so planning more than one activity per day just isn't my jam.
