A Glam & Exhausting Vacation in NYC

I needed a vacation. Like a real vacation. I wanted to go someplace where I could sleep in, but also glam myself up and take myself out to fancy dinners and go shopping and just wander around the city. So where did I decide to go? NYC, of course!

I've been to New York before. Back in 2018, I was selected to attend the Fashion Group International Director's Conference. It was my first time on the East Coast and even though I was a bit overwhelmed, I absolutely enjoyed myself. Walking around for miles, meeting new people, and even hiring a photographer to take some photos to commemorate my first time in the city, it was all so exhilarating.

My plans for this trip were a little different though. I planned to be in the city during the Met Gala in hopes of spotting a few celebrities in the wild. Aside from that, I got tickets to see SIX and CHICAGO on Broadway, I booked a spot to take a dance class at Steps on Broadway, I planned on purchasing my first pair of So Kate Louboutin pumps on Madison Avenue, and I booked reservations at some delicious-looking restaurants around the city.

On the first Monday in May, I considered hanging out in front of The Met to see all of the celebs walk the red carpet, but after taking a peek at how many people started camping out by 11 am that morning, I figured it would be best to just order a pizza and just watch it on TV in my hotel room. By Day 4, I was stunned to realize I had three more days in the city. I was exhausted, but I powered through and ended on a high note with a delicious brunch before heading back home.

I can't wait to go back!
