I bought a $20 ticket to a fashion show and then forgot why I wanted to go. The event had an intriguing premise, but I never got additional information about what to expect. By the time the event arrived, attending felt like another hurdle competing for my limited time and energy. It got me thinking about a larger question for event marketers: Are you just selling the ticket, or are you building anticipation for the experience?
