Fourteen Social Media Content Ideas for Fashion Brands

Having trouble coming up with content for new social media posts? Scrolling through your feed can be a bit intimidating, especially if you haven’t posted in a while or your engagement is low. But don’t fret. Log out of Instagram for a few minutes and use these tips to gather inspiration for some fresh content.

These topics can be used in any format from Instagram photos, videos, and reels to Pinterest pins, to YouTube videos, and even Twitter threads. So once you’ve got an idea in mind, determine how to best display your content to your audience and share away!

Highlight your Team

  • Highlight the founder(s) and share fun facts that are relatable to your audience

  • Feature new team members with a short video describing their new position and why they’re excited to work for your company

  • Share images, videos, stories, and reels of your team working behind-the-scenes

  • Celebrate your milestones with photos or videos thanking your audience (1,000 items sold, new retail space, 5,000 Instagram followers, etc.)

Feature Your Top-Selling Products/Services

  • Share text graphics featuring customer testimonials and tag the customers in the posts

  • Create videos on different ways to style products

  • Answer frequently asked questions about your services

  • Teas new arrivals on your stories

  • Share a reel featuring team members dressed in new items and describing their features

Promote Your Events

  • Set up a marketing campaign for your upcoming sales, pop-up shops, or showcases including photos, videos, and calls-to-action for your audience to attend

  • Use your stories to share highlights from your events in real-time

Incorporate User-Generated Content (UGC)

  • Host a social media contest by encouraging followers to post images and videos wearing their favorite pieces form your collections

  • Repost user-generated content to your profiles and tag the original posters

Start Conversations with Your Followers

  • Ask your followers what they think about your products/services

  • Host weekly #StyleChat sessions on Instagram Live featuring a topic related to your brand or current events in the fashion industry

Don’t feel pressured to post new content every day. Think quality over quantity. Try posting a maximum of three to four times per week to ease the stress of keeping up with your competitors. Every post should be purposeful and introduce new information for your followers to digest. This will also give you more time to actually engage with your audience.
